We owe you—our authors, readers, and fans—an apology. Over the past few weeks, we made public statements that overshared some details of our author-publisher relationships. We did so in the spirit of transparency to our readers. However, we understand this was a misstep.
City Owl Press deeply values the talent, creativity, and hard work every author puts into their craft. We are so proud to be part of the team bringing these incredible books to readers. That we let anyone down by our words is devastating to us both. We heard our author community loud and clear: we can and must do better.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll share systematic and operational changes we’re implementing. These improvements are based on recent conversations we’ve had with our authors. As we institute these changes, please share your thoughts on how we can further improve.
